A nice itinerary to shoot&shop would guide you from Termini to Colosseo(subway) then afoot on via dei Fori Imperiali(ruins, tourists, some gladiators, street artists and small trade) towards Il Vittoriano and Piazza Venezia. You might want to climb the stairs of the giant monument dedicated to king Vittorio Emanuele II and enjoy a breathtaking view or climb some other steps to reach the Capitolin Hill(Campidoglio) with its urban plan designed by Michelangelo. It’s all steps and if you don’t go Tivoli, Villa d’Este you ain’t see nothing believe me; also steps means view at top so it might worth. Just kidding 🙂
From piazza Venezia, you cross the street guided by a spectacular poliziotto(the traffic is dizzying) and you proceed on via del Corso, fancy stores, palazzi and basilica to reach eventually piazza del Popolo, where you can climb on the lions of the fountain, admire the Egyptian obelisk, artists, stuff. No, really it’s beautiful as all Rome is. Only…
…you’ll need to reach via del Babuino(paralel to via del Corso); there are some (more) posh stores to explore. And when you have enough of it, go left on via Margutta.
Silent, romantic, narrow, highly artistic population, concealed boutiques, even a place to eat, Osteria Margutta; the house where Federico Fellini and Giulietta Massina lived. Highly photogenic too and did I say romantic? take your camera
